Course portability

Import any course. Build it with AI. Export it anywhere.

EduGears reads SCORM, Moodle, and Canvas courses, rebuilds them as editable AI-ready content, and exports back to the standards every LMS understands. No lock-in, no retyping.

Start from what you already have

Upload a SCORM package, a Canvas Common Cartridge, or a Moodle course backup and EduGears AI rebuilds the structure for you. Modules, lessons and pages become native, editable activities, and imported quiz questions land as authoring material you can review, save to a Question Bank, and send to a quiz or practice set — and everything you bring in feeds the course knowledge base that grounds the AI Tutor and Assistant. A Moodle import brings across what students actually saw: activities the course hid from them are skipped, the notes written between activities merge into one page per section, and question images and links resolve. Up to 200 MB per package; preview the full course tree and deselect anything you don't want before it's ingested — everything skipped is listed by name.

Jumpstart, then make it better

Turn an import into a full, structured course — then enhance any piece with a plain-language instruction. Ask to simplify a lesson, add examples, or tighten a worksheet; the AI proposes a revision you preview and accept. Your original is never overwritten until you say so. Works across slides, questions, pages, study guides, worksheets, and lesson plans.

No lock-in. Ever.

Export a module or a whole course as SCORM 1.2, SCORM 2004, or Common Cartridge 1.3, or export question sets as QTI 2.1 or Moodle XML. Packages are self-contained — images embedded, math rendered, empty lessons dropped — so they load cleanly into any compliant LMS.

A Tutor and Assistant that know your course

Because imports feed the knowledge base, the AI Tutor (for students) and Assistant (for instructors) are grounded in your actual materials and the resource on screen. The Tutor can't see quizzes and always redacts practice answers.

Frequently asked questions

Can I import a Moodle course into Canvas (or vice versa)?

Yes — import the Moodle .mbz, then export as Common Cartridge or SCORM and load it into Canvas. EduGears is the bridge between LMSs.

What happens to Moodle quizzes and question banks when I import a course?

Each imported quiz arrives as authoring material only — students never see it and no graded quiz is created. Open it, use Save to Bank to keep its questions in a Question Bank, then send them to a quiz or practice set when you're ready. Questions from Moodle 4.x question banks resolve correctly, images and links come across intact, and Moodle's auto-graded essay questions import as short answers carrying the target phrases they were marked against, so they are marked here too instead of waiting for review.

Do my images and equations survive import and export?

Yes. Images are embedded in exported packages as data URIs (no expiring links), and math renders in SCORM and Common Cartridge; slide exports flatten LaTeX so PowerPoint shows it cleanly.

What's the file size limit for imports?

Up to 200 MB per imported package.

Will the AI overwrite my content when I enhance it?

No. Enhance with AI always shows a preview; nothing changes until you accept it.

What can the AI Tutor see?

Only lesson content the student is allowed to see. It can't access quizzes, and practice-set answers are always redacted.
